Two Ways to Play: New Markets & Live Markets Explained
COMBAT.TRADING offers two fundamentally different game modes. Each one tests different skills and creates different dynamics. Here's how they work and when to play each.
New Market Mode: Pure PvP Combat
What is it? In New Market mode, we create a brand-new token that exists ONLY for your game. It starts at $1.00. There are no external price feeds, no whales, no news events. The price moves ONLY when players in the room trade.
How the price moves: We use an AMM (Automated Market Maker) with a constant-product formula. Think of it like a seesaw:
- When players BUY, the price goes UP
- When players SELL, the price goes DOWN
- The more you trade, the more the price moves
Why it's pure PvP: Every dollar you make comes from another player in the room. If you're up $5,000, someone else (or multiple people) are down $5,000. There's no "market" to blame. Just you and your opponents.
Best strategies:
- The Squeeze: Build a position slowly, then hit the gas to liquidate leveraged opponents
- The Fade: Wait for someone to overextend, then trade against them
- The Bluff: Make small trades to appear weak, then strike when they're exposed
- The Patience Play: Sometimes the best trade is no trade—let others destroy each other
Who should play New Markets:
- Players who want pure skill-based competition
- Those who enjoy reading opponents and psychological warfare
- Traders who want guaranteed volatility (no boring sideways markets)
- Anyone tired of getting wrecked by external news/whales
Live Market Mode: Real Assets, Real Chaos
What is it? In Live Market mode, you trade REAL assets with REAL-TIME prices. We support:
- Crypto: BTC, ETH, SOL, DOGE, PEPE
- Forex: EUR/USD, GBP/JPY
- Indices: S&P 500 (SPY), Nasdaq (QQQ), Gold
The price feed comes from actual exchanges (Binance, TwelveData). The market moves whether you trade or not.
How it works: You're not trading the actual asset—you're trading a SIMULATION of the asset against other players in your room. Everyone starts with $10,000 and the same price feed. But here's the twist: you can use hyper-leverage (50x-500x depending on the asset).
This means a 0.5% move in Bitcoin becomes a 100% gain (or loss) for a 200x leveraged position. Slow markets become exciting.
Why it's different from New Markets:
- External price action: You're reacting to real market movements, not just other players' trades
- News events matter: A Fed announcement or Elon tweet can change everything mid-game
- Timing is everything: You're trying to predict where the real market goes, with the added variable of your opponents' positions
Best strategies:
- The Sniper: Wait for a clear trend, take a position, and ride it with leverage
- The Contrarian: When everyone in the room is Long, sometimes the real money is in the Short
- The Scalper: Take quick profits on small moves before the market reverses
- The News Trader: If you know a catalyst is coming (earnings, CPI data), position ahead of it
Who should play Live Markets:
- Traders who enjoy analyzing real market structure
- Those who want to test their skills against actual price action
- Players who like the unpredictability of external events
- Anyone who wants to practice live market trading with higher stakes
